Can you help me identifying my Ibanez SZ

Hi

I just bought this guitar but I am unable to determine the model of it. Can you please help me.

It is a solid black SZ, with a white-beige rim. Flame inlays and Duncan/Ibanez pups. String-through body. It was produced in Korea in may 2006.

Thanks!
Tomas

Thanks for the reply. That was my initial thought too, but I cannot find the SZ720 in that particular color in any catalogue; solid black with a whiteish rim...

Will try to post some images soon.

Sorry, missed the solid black part. 720's came in transparent finshes with flame inlays all the way up and down the fretboard. SZ520s also came in trans finishes, but only had the flame inlay at the 12th fret (inlay goes 11th to 13th actually), and the solid finishes were the low end of the series, but didn't have the flame inlays. The one you're describing sounds like a 320 to me, with the exception of the flame inlay.

Ok so the neck is like the 720 and the body is like the 320 except for the rim...hmm weird.

You should be able to see that the body somewhat differ from the 320.

Ok, saw now that the body is very similar (identical?) to the 320, but the question remains, which model is it?

Interesting. Never seen a solid color with those inlays. If you can get a pic of the back of the headstock, it will have the model number.

I have now added a photo of the headstock in the shared album. Thanks for the help!

Re: Can you help me identifying my Ibanez SZ

If you got the flames all the way up the neck with the solid finish, it may be a euro/japan market model. The 720's that I've seen here look like mine.

Re: Can you help me identifying my Ibanez SZ

It's probably a spot model SZ.

FWIW, many of the 320's DID have natural binding......
