Can you identify this Ibanez ?

Calling all Ibanez experts. *Please help me identify this guitar from the description below :-

RG Style Body but with the bottom horn much longer then the top horn.

Reverse headstock which is kinda curved

Dual humbuckers and no center pickup

Edge trem

Neck is dark wood (material unknown) with shark tooth inlays.

The distictive feature is the large bottom horn on the body.

Any ideas ??? * Oh it was made in about '93 or '94 i'm told.

Thanks

Best guess? The 540 PII...

Cool looking guitar, gotta love the reverse headstock..

I believe these were made more towards '88-'90, by '93 they should've been long gone (according to my '93, '94, + '95 catalogs)...

I remember having seen in 91 or 92 reverse RG's... One of the famous metalheads of that time used to play such an Ibanez. But I don't remember his name. That's all I can remeber about that axe.

I found a picture that may help. It does look a bit like the 540P-II that Toshiro mentioned. Have a look and let me know what you think.

That's a 540P II-HHDY for sure. I've got a Jan '90 catalog that lists that guitar. Alex Skolnick of Testament endorsed them (atleast I've got pictures of him playing them in two catalogs). I want it! I want it!

yeah, and someone was telling me that satriani also played those for a while, too. * he was trying to sell me one. *however, it had two main problems: it only had 22 frets and it was pink. * *i liked the design though, it was pretty cool. *i always thought strat-styles looked good upside down. *

I've been looking for one for about 5 years on and off... The only one I ever saw on eBay was black, no pick guard, beat up, and sold for more than I was willing to pay for it... soooo...

Good Luck

hmmm the two guitars pictured are different from my memories. *like i said, the one i saw had 22 frets, i dont recall a pickguard, and im thinking it looked a tad less extreme. *

i could be wrong. they had it at Music Exchange in colorado springs. * it was march 2000, and i seriously doubt they've still got it, but if for some reason you really wanna see if they still have it, their # is: (719) 578-0884. * *

*ha, i just flipped the business card over, and the saleman had written "540 pII" on the back (for $369). * i guess that is what i saw. *but i swear it only had 22 frets. *that was the main determining factor of why i didn't buy it (i could have sand blasted the pink)*

ShredHead42: Think what you're talk in about is the 540 P (Power).. That's the one Satch was playing for a time, IIRC..

Geez, I haven't used the 'Blue Horizon' site this much in a long time..
