Re: carvin guitars ?

Not a C66, It's a Bolt+C w/pointy headstock option.. I personally think the Bolt+C is the most underrated instrument in Carvin's catalog...

I ordered this one with the Charvel San Dimas in mind, and it will measure up to any the many SD's I've played lately

I love this instrument.. But I can't help but wonder how it would stack up against a JS1000..

Having next to zero experience with the JS1000 I really don't know.. But I'm gassin for one

Re: carvin guitars ?

How are the neck joints on those bolts? Not having a contoured joint has kinda kept me away from getting something in the bolt or contour line. I have a Fender Tele and due to my small hands it's neck joint is a real pain for me. The bolt neck joint appears to be very similar to a fender joint.

Did you have to pay extra for the pointy headstock?
does it have a fender style neck joint?

Yes, The PH option is $40

I haven't measured the neck joint but I'm assuming it's a 2 &3/16" pocket like Fender..

Re: carvin guitars ?

No, the Carvin uses a smaller plate with tighter screw layout. The pocket is the same size, but overall it's a bit more comfy. Not on the level of an AANJ, but better than a Fender.
