check out this j-custom

Ok, so this is a pretty pointless post; however, I stumbled upon photos of this unbelievably ornate J-Custom and just figured I would share them. I have no idea what model it is and although I am not that big of a fan of H-S-H configured guitars or neck-throughs I figured some of you would enjoy seeing it.

(any guesses on the model number?)

I just found the model number, HRG-2000; apparently it was a special project guitar (like the HRG-2001).

Stunner, first time I've seen one. Like a cross between a Texas Special in Natural, and a RG4

Wow, that's a pretty ornate instrument. Would make a decent Jemsite Custom, eh?

Am I the only one that thinks this one is a bit TOO much?
It's too flashy IMO

Without a natural binding instead of the abalone it would be my vote for the jemsite custom I love the quilt-top and the matching pups. I would kill for a Texas Special Can't we get the PR1 as a rerun?

No, you are not alone; it is definitely too flashy for me, it was just so shocking to see. By the way, I found this guitar on the Yahoo Japan Auctions site; they have had a lot of extremely rare Ibanez prestige and j-custom guitars on there in the past few months, the only thing is that most all sellers specifically state "will not ship internationally".

In my opinion you can't get too flashy with a guitar! Haha, I like that a lot, but I think I would still take a Jem 10th over it!

Wow. Like Rich said...interesting assets. I tend to steer away from flash (why I didn't keep the PR-2 & 3)...but this works for me. Even so, vines are not the "end all" for me, and the abalone trim might be pushing it.

That's got to be the best quilt i've ever seen on an Ibanez!

The pearloid binding and abalone purfling on the top are a little extravagant for my tastes (not to mention the vine), but overall, a very classy looking machine.

I agree that the binding (and possibly the vine) are a bit too much for me, but the quilt is absolutely stunning.
