Chrome Whammy Bar for Lo Pros?

Is there such a thing as a chrome whammy bar for the Lo Pro? Or even gold, for that matter?

I've only come across them on ebay--being sold by overseas sellers, but based on the poor reviews (from very unhappy buyers) they're obviously crap.

Then, there's something like this:

Anyone have experience with these?

Bought a gold one from a US seller. Price was good but a side by side comparison revealed that the end that goes into the trem is about 3/16" longer and causes it to stick up higher than an original black bar would. I didn't care for it. Not a big loss though.

Hmm, that would be a deal-killer for me.

Try polishing the bar with metal polish, like auto-sol. I did this with a cosmo black Edge Pro that had seen better days, and the trem looks great, chrome, barely any marks. I was going to try the bar, maybe I'll get around to it this week as an experiment. I'll post here if I get it done.

There are a ton of aftermarket bars, the IBA1000's. As mentioned, they are not the same.

There was an original chrome bar made, for the JS2PRM's. But they didn't have spares to sell as parts, I tried to buy 50 of them, so many requests for a chrome bar. Oddly enough they sold me BDG bars, go figure.

If memory serves me correct I got two bars with my PRM because initially they didn't send me the bag with the bar in it and then somehow I got two.

Every PRM came with 2 chrome [or silver, they're not exactly chrome] bars.

I think they stole the bars out of my initial bag, I think I had the bag and tools no bars, then I contact Musicians friend they called ibanez and they sent me a complete second bag, but I didn't know they were supposed to have two.

Early chrome Edge trems had chrome bars as well... I had one on my Radius!

You Radius had black hardware and in no way would have come with a chrome bar,

Jackson had pop in bars in chrome that used the same bushings but black, I have one. They're not exactly the same.

Re: Chrome Whammy Bar for Lo Pros?

I should have said the chrome Edge I put on my Radius. I bought the chrome hardware used and had a matching chrome bar which looked exactly the same as my black ones. Must migrate my pics from photobucket so I can post a pic.

Re: Chrome Whammy Bar for Lo Pros?

I definitely don't know everything, but I have never seen a confirmed original chrome Edge bar, except the PRM's which are just silver, not chrome.

Re: Chrome Whammy Bar for Lo Pros?

The first one I saw was in a very early S540. The one with the mini switches and the smaller input jack. There is currently a black cherry one on that auction site from a fellow forum member that also looks to have a chrome trem bar.

Re: Chrome Whammy Bar for Lo Pros?

EDIT: Nevermind. I see that the silver bars are basically non-existent nowadays.

I have so many black tremolo arms lying around, I may try sandblasting the finish off one and then polishing it up. I'll probably tape-off the portion that inserts into the trem (leaving it black), as I don't want to affect the diameter and end up with a droopy bar
