Close to ordering a 20th 550

I am this close [...] to ordering a 20th 550dy. I had an original AANJ one a while ago and foolishly sold it. Problem is, I have no real need for it, my Les Paul, Axis, Jem and Strat cover every base. Plus it 850 is pretty steep.

But damm it looks good.

I was hoping to keep hold of the cash until the London guitar show at the end of April just in case I see something I really want, I think the 20th 550 boat will have sailed by then though.

What do you guys reckon ?

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

Maybe I have formulated a plan here.

I like my dbk because it sounds awesome and is very versitle. I am not too fond of the neck though, a bit too thin for me. Solution :

Sell the dbk, buy a 550dy, then buy the new black jem (to replace the 10th anniversary I also foolishly sold and miss like mad)

(then probably get my nuts handed to me by Mrs Dazza but what the hell, she always finds something to moan about anyway)

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

The DBK neck is like the RG550: Wizard profile. So the chances are that you won't like the 550 neck anyway if you're thinking the DBK neck is too thin.

e-Bay item: 200091186824

If you were to bid, you should contact the seller first and ask him about shipping over to the UK. If he won't do it, you could always get it sent to a friend in the USA and have them pass it on to you.

Let us know how youget on Dazza - I'd like to know if there are any left unsold in the UK.

However, with only 7 DY and 6 RF coming here that weren't sold around Christmas time, I would think they'll all be long gone by now.

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

looks like I may have struck out. I can only hope they will re-issue the 550dy as a regular production model, or even better, that I score a JemDY

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

nope. Honestly, at 850 I am not too bothered considering I have no real need for it.

I am tempted to order some bits off Warmoth and get SIMS to do a dy spray job.

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

Well I managed to score a 20th dy, paid 1/2 now, 1/2 on collection. I was also offered an 20th rfr which I am seriously thinking about bagging as well.

I am a very happy man, got it a bit cheaper than I thought too.

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

That was the extra one that you ordered right? Any UK person with a little sense will jump on that. £658 will get you a 550DY shipped and insured to the UK. I wish I had some spare money!

Re: Close to ordering a 20th 550

yea it was. I emailed them telling them that it was a mistake and everything, Hope they understand. I hate being an arsehole to people and I can imagine the bother they went through ordering the thing for me. Im a strong beliver in community spirt as well. If I dont need it I may as well help someone who couldnt get one have the chance to get one of these guitars.

EDIT:

Got contacted from someone wanting to know where from and i belive they took it. Not heard back from the guy yet but I think thats it all sorted out now!
