Considering the RG3550mz

I have the ability to get an RG3550mz for obo $900.

I have a couple questions for people who have owned one. (biased posters need not apply)

Here are the styles of music that I play, and this guitar has a variety of different tones that it can get. I just want your evaluations on how you think it handles with each.

Styles-
Classic Rock - Ratt, Slaughter, Van Halen
Country - Brent Mason, Brad Paisley, Albert Lee
Shred Metal - Dream Theater, Metallica, Paul Gilbert (much more confident that it will model similar sounds, no problem)

Of course there is no perfect guitar, but certainly more versatile ones.

I know a lot of people simply prefer edge pro trems to edge zeros, etc. And may discount the potential advantages for something just because they refuse one specific feature on any of their guitars.

Re: Considering the RG3550mz

I think that guitar can handle all those styles, with the right amplification and effects.

Rock on!

'Preciate the help. Do you know which pickup will be best suited to country soloing?

Re: Considering the RG3550mz

The stock pickups should be fine. Like I said before, with a nice amp and the right FX that guitar should do everything you want, no problems, from country picking to shred soloing to brutal metal.

Rock on!
