Could anyone provide me with some more info on my RG?

Hi everyone,

I'm new on the board so I think it's better to introduce myself first before throwing questions all around. My name is Janno (Jay to friends) and I live in the Netherlands. I've been playing guitar for about 8-9 years now and one of my fav. hobbies is customizing Ibanez RG guitars. My current (humble) collection consists of a Gibson Gothic Explorer (2001), an Ibanez BTB405QM (2001), a Marlin Sidewinder Bass, an Ibanez RG550LTD (1997), an Ibanez RG7-620 (2001) and an Ibanez RG527-R LTD (1996). My question is about the last guitar mentioned above. Does anyone have some more info on this guitar? The serial number is F603688. It has a one piece maple neck with a reversed headstock, rosewood board with mirrored (color-changing) sharkfin inlays. It is also outfitted with the V7, S1, V8 pups and an Edge trem. It's a very dark pewter color. Thanks a lot on any further info on this guitar.

Greetz,
Jay

PS. this forum is great!

Welcome to Jemsite Jay

I have only a little more information to offer on the RG527.

According to my catalogues it made it's debut in the "Ibanez Autumn Collection" in 1995, (a supplement to the regular catalogue for that year)along with guitars such as the RG505 and RG507. It was gone again from the range by 97.

It was also available in Black and Jewel Blue Burst.

I can confirm that the body is basswood like the majority of the RG line.

I can't offer much more than that I'm afraid other than to add that a few were imported to the uk with a "barbed wire" graphic finish, one of which sold through Rose Morris in London.

Thanks Jono,

I modded my RG527R LTD quite heavily. I'll post the entire story along with pics soon.

Greetz,

Jay
