crap... first "real" prs experience

three words.... "mother of god".....

Played a custom 24 ( gm of guitar center told me to ) today.... im still in shock. It was THAT good. I've normally grouped prs into the" not worth it boutique" category, but that has been shattered.... im just... gosh I've never fell in love with a guitar like this before.... I know y'all don't care, but I just wanted to share this life altering experience

I used to be a major PRS whore back in the '90's, so I know exactly what you mean.

Re: crap... first "real" prs experience

the SE Custom 24s are around 600ish over here.

its the Custom 24s (non SE) that start to go into the big money, and then the private stock stuff (which is proper por n!)

ive yet to have a play on one, but as far as aesthetics go, they're what i aspire to have, one way or another!

I really like PRS they just feel...Right! Im mostly an Ibanez guy but would love a PRS at some point. I think their finishes are some of the best in the guitar world.

I've never got on with PRS guitars, I respect them, I think they're beautiful, but I think they sound like they only ever go up to 8 out of 10. I'm glad you've found guitars you like though. Now it's time for one of your infamous bargain hunts

PRS are great quality and are good for their own thing,
But my ibanez have something i just cant replace.
the prs do feel amazing but if i could only have one axe it would be an ibanez.
that said i sold an amazing prs custom 24 with a 10 top and birds was tortouise color for 1,200. i had a choice sell 2 of my ibbys or that and you know the rest.

Well its definitely a" bargain". Its not a ten top, but its whale blue, mahog body, and for sale for 1299. Im gonna sleep on it and go play it again tomorrow.

edit: its used of course. Its in mint condition. Im super anal, and its mint to me, and im sure rich would feel the same. The real reason im seriously debating it, is because they hold their value really well.

Re: crap... first "real" prs experience

Buy it. I don't have a PRS in my collection....YET. It is on my MUST have items list. I have played a few and just like any guitar, as you kno, the sound and feel can be hit and miss from one guitar to another. So, if you find a good one for a good price you should jump on it.

For that price, and those features, I would pull the trigger, YESTERDAY. That's a bargain for a good condition CU24.

Have my first PRS on its' way to me now, it's a satin natural finish SC250 with a one piece top and birds. Can't wait for it, and will definitely be posting NGD pics.

Re: crap... first "real" prs experience

I'm happy you had such an experience with a guitar. I think I recently had a similar experience when I tried a Tyler Studio Elite SE. Feels good to know there are still great guitars out there, even if Ibanez no longer make guitars that makes me drool.
