Wait what, a D-Tuna with a floting bridge? That makes no sense. Are you tremol-no-ing?

Yup, but on a bridge with no pullback. Surely you'll need a Tremol-no or some other kind of blocking mechanism in the back?

If you've done it before, I'll bow to your experience but I added a Tremol-no / D-Tuna combo to my Gunslinger Retro and without the Deep-C locked on the Tremol-No, the bridge pulls sharp when you drop to D. It's just physics.

Wow! I have always wanted a telecaster with a floyd on it with natural finish and humbucker, single.
LOL! It's like you read my mind.
I guess the only way ill get it, is if i build it.
Great build!

Re: Custom Guitar - Mesa Blu

Nice work! Looking good.

You will need something like a Tremol-no to stop the tuning going out when using the D-tuna. EVHs don't fully float so it's not a problem there, but on fulling floating designs like what you are doing it will be a problem.

Nice one! I dig Floyded Teles myself and have a couple of Kramers...

Personally, I would just ditch the D-Tuna and keep the ability to pull up.

No need to ditch the D-Tuna, just install the tremol-no too. When in E set to fully floating, and set to dive-only when in drop D.

Re: Custom Guitar - Mesa Blu

Just received my new pups Friday, went with Seymour Duncan little 59 (black) for the neck and Duncan Custom TB-5 (reverse zebra), setting up with a super 5 way switch.

Im really close to finishing the guitar, just need to take some pics.

Re: Custom Guitar - Mesa Blu

ok heres a really bad picture of it from my cell phone, Ill try to get a better pic of it tonight .. its about 98% done, have to install control cover, strap buttons and intonate it, yes I took off the D-tuna for now, until I get it full setup and maybe get a tremol-no.
