Custom Ibanez: Alder or Basswood body with Crunch Lab and Air Norton??

Hello,

I'm working on an old RG and I have bought an Alder JEM body. I still have the posibility to choice the same body but made in basswood. I have bought two Dimarzio Pickups: Crunch Lab (treble 4.5,mid 5.5,bass 6) and Air Norton (treble 5, mid 7, bass 6.5).

Do you think that is better a basswood body for this pickups?? or maybe a good choice CL + AN in the Alder body??

Thanks!

Well the Petrucci guitar is basswood and those are his pups, I think his new jpx is alder though but with some mahogany to balance it out more which I think would make it more like basswood

Hi,

Thanks for your answer! I was searching about "basswood vs alder" by internet and most of the people thinks alder is a better wood.

But basswood is great too and it's possible that works better with the CL and AN so ... I have sent an email to the seller asking about change my choice. I hope he haven't sent it yet!

Bye
