Custom RGA7

So Instead of boring anyone who doesn't care with the story about how long I have waited for this guitar (over 4 years) I'll just leave a link to the thread about it on SS.org here: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/sev...ml#post1512426

I FINALLY after over 4 years got Chris Woods to finish my guitar (sorta) and had him send it off to have it finished by Marty Bell. Here's what the end result is after finishing.

I changed my mind on the color a bit after 4 years and I decided to go with gold hardware instead so don't mind that it's not 100% consistent with the original idea. I can't wait to finish this thing and rip some Pomegranate Tiger tunes on it!

[

Just got some new hardware for it today. Still waiting on the rest.

Thumbs up Re: Custom RGA7

Looking forward to see the end result

4 years! Well, from what I've read, you're lucky to have something back for your $$$. Not a thing all customers that ended like you can say.

Regards,

JP

The Flame top and the gold Flo (pun intended) harmoniously!
As for the 4 years i would've gone mad and went into pissed off Hulk Mode.
But hey at least it was worth it, right?

Re: Custom RGA7

is that cutaway on the lower horn standard?? I don't know much about this model. I'm not much of a gold hardware guy but in this case I think it really needed it

It's similar to the cutaway on the RGD series but not exactly the same. It's scooped out so that my hand doesn't hit it when I'm on the higher frets.

Re: Custom RGA7

Got my Dimarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifier 7s with custom gold hardware today and I'm glad I got the gold instead of settling for the regular versions. Just waiting on the machine heads now!

Hmm,

Not a fan of gold usually, but you nailed it on this one so far...

Keep those pics coming!

JP

Funny enough I'm the same way. I was very nervous when I decided to go with gold hardware but I'm glad I did.

Re: Custom RGA7

Did you request a slightly matte finish? Doesn't look terribly high gloss in the pictures. Gorgeous looking guitar otherwise though!

Re: Custom RGA7

It's glossy for sure. I'm just using an external flash on my camera to achieve that look.

An another note, I got my machine heads in today.

Man that is Awesome!

I absolutely LOVE the finish-hardware-pick up configuration!

You have totally nailed a dream guitar there!

Well done Sir!

Gorgeous indeed. It's unfortunate that CW can't get the business side of things in order. When he does good work, it seems to be REALLY good. If he could get his business challenges taken care of, maybe hire 1-2 luthiers, maybe an admin assistant, etc.
