Dave Wiener's Guitar

Has anyone seen Dave Wieners green Custom RG7-string? Thats one of the coolest guitars I've ever seen. Check it out: http://www.daveweiner.com/dw71.html

Yeah that does look sweet, its the same as the orange one he has got. Only this one is green. Ibanez should think about maybe doing a mass production 7-string with a maple board, it would sell.

The orange one is better, except for the PAF 7s he has loaded in it. If they made that orange guitar a production model, I'd buy one, at least, and I think a lot of other people would too, especially with the maple fretboard.

Most companys have a had a rough time with maple and 7's, and i dont see ibanez doing one anytime soon. Its a good idea for maybe a really super limited high cost low profit run, but thats about it.

Are the maple boards more difficult to work with, or just more costly?

I wish Ibanez would make more green guitars.

i think people just prefer the look of darker fretboard,
i personally would love a 7 with a maple board

Don't get me wrong, I prefer a darker fretboard, too, but I think maple sounds appreciably better than rosewood. I'm happy to trade a tiny bit of aesthetic value for markedly better tone. I'd REALLY like a 7 with an ebony board, but I would buy a maple one.
