Absolutely love this build, pearloid binding and vine stem really sets this think off... like the Universe of PGM's. Great job and Pablo is the man!

Re: DC04 building 'PGM Black'

update...

well.... I threw the neck from spanish "luthier" away (in the trash).

So about 2008 I ordered a new neck from ETGuitars for this project...

After such a looooooooong wait and a long history to tell ,,, the neck finally arrived!!! Yes... now 2016!!!!!
But... ET didn't a good job. The neck has some defects. I told ET that fix these problems before send the neck to me, but he ignored me.

Here the flaws:

Bad hollow for the nut:

Bad fret work... The edges of the frets hurt the hand. Need to be filed:

Too small holes for tuners:

Also, I'll have to use the router (or sanding) to level a little the cavity neck joint on body (this is not a problem from ET neck... the body was not ready for it).

So I will must fix it by myself... I hope I can do it right and not break anything, becouse the guitar looks good.

cheers.
dani.

Re: DC04 building 'PGM Black'

I have been working...

Making the socket a litter more deep:
(here I made a mistake... I overcame the sanding... and I did a small 'hollow' in the socket . I hope it does not affect the guitar much)

Fix the holes for tuners:

Fix the nut cavity:

Filing down (I dont know how it says in english) the edge of the frets:

Now only needs wiring, logo, strings and checking....

Re: DC04 building 'PGM Black'

Well...
I mount the guitar but is unplayable.

The ET neck is no good. The frets are in very bad conditions. I am disapointed... 8 years waiting for this.

At this point... I must send the guitar to a luthier... I can't to put the frets back to their place.
I did all work that I could with this neck... all this work should be made by ET, not me. He has had a lot of time to do his job in good conditions.

Edit:

I just received a partial refund from ETGuitars. This money will be used for fix the neck.

Very slow sending stuff, but at least good customer service.

Re: DC04 building 'PGM Black'

The guitar is finished.

Fixed all issues... All frets have been replaced with better steel ones. Now they are well placed and glued... not raised by the edges.
Fixed neck pocket with a piece of wood. The neck is now firmly seated.

Some pics:

The actual guitar is just like the drawing of the initial project

It cost me money to fix it but I think it was worth it. The guitar works perfect now.

Cheers.

(and sorry my bad english)
