yes!. i bought the templates there.
When you got the templates, did they give you the measurements for
the depths of the cavities when you route them out, or did you
measure an existing body?
What books did you get?
I understand the "bad english" barier as far as detailed explinations go
BUT... can you AT LEAST give "us" the desciption of
the tools needed (what you bought and use) such as the router bits
(the length, type of cut, how many bearings to use on them etc.)?
ANYTHING to get "us" in the right direction..HELP US OUT DUDE!!

Re: DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

well... i will try

i have a old jem77 plan with all measurements. but principally, i get the measures from my ibanez guitars, becouse the jem77 plan isn't AANJ and it is a little different in some aspects. and my projects are with AANJ.
books... you can check 'Guitar Design' by Jim Donahue, and 'Building Electric Guitars' by Martin Koch.

about tools.... uffffffff.... i need to look the dictionary (spanish-english) to find the name of tools. you look the books. here are the tools that you need. i haven't many tools. a router, jigsaw, drill, sands, rules, precision caliper, some hand tools, and little more.

an important thing is this router bit for use with the templates:

regards.

Dani, 1st off, thanks for helping us out man,we really appreciate your time!!

Folks, for referance, the picture is from Stewmac.com. There are 2 differant sizes

part#s 0538 (3/8 diameter w/2 bearings) and 0693 (1/2" diameter with 1 bearing)
Dani are you using both of these bits?? If not, which one?/
Also if you can just give
us the brand name of the tools and any part#s, we can figure
the rest of it out.

Folks,i'll find out where we can buy the books at and post the sites here.
P.S.
Dani, is it O.K. to "high jack" this thread a little and add any info I might
find to help in the quest for "custom Ibanez guitar building"?? I know
others on here want to give guitar building a shot...

Re: DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

another great place for the aspiring guitar builder is projectguitar.com. there are guys over there that are very experienced and can help you out along the way if you get into a difficult situation. there's also a tutorial on how a guy built a replica strat. different guitar, but many of the same principles apply.

Re: DC05. Building a 'RG custom Quilted'

Looking nice. When my Dad and I built my custom we made the edges rounded slightly, with deeper cutaways for the arm and tummy.
