Hey man! Do you know about the RRG-3 J Custom with a koa top?? I have one and I have the specs on it.

They only made 6. I have #4 and I have never seen the others. From all my searching and hunting, I honestly think it's the only one in North America.

I can't figure out how to post a pic, so here is a link to a pic from my instagram

Very cool guitar.

We do have it documented, although the image isn't great: RRG3. Feel free to make any corrections based on what you know of yours.

Do you have a full-length shot you'd be willing to permit the use of? Also, do you have any paperwork (like a certificate of authenticity or something) that documents the production number?

I do have a full length shot that you can definitely use. I have the COA but it doesn't say which number it is. #4 was on a hang tag that came with the guitar.

Re: Definitive(-ish) list of J Customs

I finally found some info and a photo of the RRG1502S:

The top looks like quilted sapele to me, but I'm wondering if anyone here is able to translate any of the Japanese in this ad to confirm the details of this guitar.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

It's hard to read, if you zoom in to get all the kanji then the image distorts.
But from what I can make out it's a special spot run from the Japanese market J custom line.

With a unique quilted top in RWN finish. Looks like those tops may have been limited to 10 guitars in that particular run for that retailer.

As you've probably already picked out Air Norton, Tone Zone pickups.

If you have a higher res image I'll translate it properly.

Thanks for taking a shot at translating it. Unfortunately, this image is the best (only) scan I've found of this (or any) advertisement for this guitar.

It's definitely a special run for Rock Inn. 10 units sounds reasonable.
