Definitive pickups when you think: Ibanez RG?

The guitar I picture when I think of Ibanez Superstrat is the RG550 with a maple neck.

What is the classic pickup for that? I know they had the V1-S1-V2 pickups (and Jems had the PAF Pro), but I'm looking for a 7-string equivalent for an RG1527M.

Thanks!

More now that ever, a DiMarzio HSH trio like what is in 652/655 and Paul Gilbert Icemans.

PAF Pros and an HS-2 in the middle was the default in the olden days. For a seven string, I'd say the Blaze II set is the classic default position...

To me the definitive pickups for the RG550 is the Tone Zone / Air Norton set...
Now, for the 7 string, I did not like the Tone Zone 7... The Blazes found in Universes are nice, I had a Blaze Custom bridge which I also liked as well as the D-Sonic 7 / Air Norton 7. Hadn't tried the newer Petrucci pickups though...

Tone zone + Air Norton = JB + '59.
classic couple.

Classic would have to be PAF pros, as most of the RG endorsers from the 'golden era' used them (Kotzen, Gilbert, Saraceno etc.,) in the RG's. The TZ + AN have been offered longer , but IMHO aren't considered classic, but updated.

The PAF-7's that come in the RG752, while not universally liked, are brilliant, IMO.

PAF pro's and The TZ/AN I would call classic combo's. But I am really enjoying EVO2/HFH combo in my RG1520.
