the difference between alder,mahogany and basswood body?

Hi everybody!
im new in there, so i want to know what are the differences between an alder, a basswood and a mahogany body. I know the sound should be diffent, but what's the spec about all these types of body?

That's why i've taken to answering questions with Google searches. Instead of coming here and asking a question, someone could type four words into Google and find the answer for themselves.

Do people not take any pride in being resourceful?

I followed one of Darren's links and found the following little jem (sic) of information.

Some sound advice here for all I think

Which to buy? When deciding which instrument to learn, first consider what style of music you wish to play. If you are into heavier rock, alternative, metal or punk you will most likely want an electric. If you are into folk, mellow or acoustic sounding music then you will most likely want an acoustic guitar.
