Whats the difference between the ESP M-II and ESP M-II deluxe models? (The ones from the mid 90s) Also, whats a good price to pay for a used one of either of these?

I would assume, at least, it has to do with construction quality and quality control. Could be wrong though!

I don't think that there is that much difference in the standard productions models. I have had three really great ESP custom shop MIIs and they all had ESP MII Deluxe necks. If I remember the correctly there was no quality difference. The MII came with 2 Humbuckers and the MII Deluxe I think had a HSH config with pickguard. I have no idea what to pay for one. I'd guess under $600 from what I have seen on e-bay.

Well...The MIIs I'm talking about have one bridge humbucker and one slanted single coil near the neck. I guess I was mainly wondering if there were hardware differences(trem, electronics...)

Sounds familiar to one I saw someone around my area with. His was Gunmetal Blue, HB bridge (not sure of model) and what looked like a SC sized HB in the neck position slanted. Had a Floyd (or similar). Reverse headstock, matched finish, back of neck is also matched. 1 vol., no tone. Neck through I think. Very nice sounding. See vids here.

I own an MII like you described and it is my favorite guitar. The slanted single coil is an ESP version of the Duncan "Hot Rail" and sounds great. They usually come with an ESP humbucker but mine has a SD Jeff Beck in the bridge. They come with a Schaller Floyd Rose and the guitars are made to strict tolerances. I am always looking to pickup another. My MII has a neck that says MII Deluxe, it has a reverse headstock. It is a custom shop so it is an arch top also. Someone on the ESP web site message board would probably have more details. Very good guitars. Sound great, play great and look great.
