Re: difference between prestige neck and just neck

The neck may be a different profile. Personally I'd get the 2027x, as long as the rust wasnt too bad, as they're pretty rare since they were discontinued. AFAIK there arent any other 7 strings with piezo's. See if you can talk them down a bit on the price.

First suggestion, learn to use capital letters.

Second suggestion, learn to use the search function.

Third suggestion, don't post multiple threads on the same subject.

Re: difference between prestige neck and just neck

The prestige logo makes no difference, I'm too lazy to find out when it was implemented, but it basically means the guitar was manufactured in Japan, and is higher quality. Older made in Japan models won't have it. Anyways I would get the 2027.

I'm not trying to be an a$$hole, but I just want to saythat Michael Sherman can make 7's and 8's with piezos. At the moment though, there aren't any production model 7's with piezos.

Re: difference between prestige neck and just neck

Well, obviously almost any luthier could build a custom with piezo's. I was referring to production guitars only.

I stand corrected. Wow, how could I forget about the EBMM Petrucci model.

Re: difference between prestige neck and just neck

****, I cant believe I forgot the JP7!
And I already said there may be some differences in the neck profile (I think the Prestige may be a bit thicker) but I'm not sure. They could be the same.

A "prestige" badge indicates the guitar has received a few extra steps of finishing to make the guitar feel more "played in".

That's all.

Re: difference between prestige neck and just neck

Prestige refers to the fingerboard treatment. Check this thread
