DiMarzio Blaze Neck or Seymour Duncan Jazz 7...
Hey everyone. I'm changing out the neck 'bucker in my 7621 and I've narrowed it down to either a DiMarzio Blaze Neck or a Seymour Duncan Jazz 7. I was attracted to the DiMarzio because of the somewhat higher output but I dislike the lack of the treble somewhat (gathered from DiMarzio's tone chart), but I'm attracted to the Seymour Duncan because all of it's frequencies seem to all be higher levels than the dimarzio (comparing respective tone charts, anyways), but I don't like the fact that it's output is so low. I want the neck bucker for a good open, warm, bright, smooth, non-muddy clean tone, and for a good fatter, warm, edgy solo tone. This interest in passive pickups has also made me wonder if I may perfer a Duncan JB 7 or a DiMarzio Blaze Bridge over my current EMG 707 (don't worry, I got the wiring problems worked out). I use my bridge for distorted rhythm, and I like a edgy, bassy, tight distortion sound. What do you guys think? Any other ideas or suggestions?
