Dimarzio strap help

Hey guys i was wondering how far do you go with the screws that come with the strap, past the round smooth part? I was also wondering, if the screw could end up going through the horn if I were to tighten them all the way.

Thanks in advance guys, im just a little cautious around my new rg right now.

Re: Dimarzio strap help

I put a Dimarzio strap in my RG320 not too long ago and I was scared to death when I started screwing in and realised a had to screw a few more turns into the wood...it felt stiff as I was diggind into the body :S:S:S:S I was so scared that I would hurt my guitar (care bout them more than bout my gfriend hahahahah) took some courage but eventually I did it and apparently turn out ok hehehehe if a tragedy happens I'll let you know hahaha

Re: Dimarzio strap help

hahaha i thought the same damn thing...ugh, i ended up taking out the screw and holding it over the top from where it would enter and seeing if it had enough room or if it would jut out, but its fine

Re: Dimarzio strap help

I just use a soldering iron to widen the hole on the strap large enough to go over the small end of the original strap button, then I just screw the strap button (w/the strap attached) back on with the original screw. It's a better way than the way Dimarzio wants us to do it.
