do you take out the strap and the tremolo arm?

hi, i have an RG prestige for 2 months maybe, and im wondering if im doing good to TAKE OUT the strap always, (i only put it at studio, at home i play without strap) and the tremolo arm.

I do this because:

#1 tremolo arm touches the case;
#2 strap dont fit well in the case

do you think i can do bad things to the guitar because putting on and off the strap can cause "damage" to the holders of the guitar??

and is it more consuming to the arms nylon washers?

Well, if you want to keep it in a case when not being played you really don't have a choice but to take off the trem arm and the strap. (especially the Trem arm) That is if you want to latch the case properly Just be easy when you slip the strap off the nipple and always make sure they are screwed in snug!

I ALWAYS keep my babies latched tightly in the case when not playing.

You can do some real damage putting them in the case with the bar in place. And yes, it will wear the nylon washers faster. As for the strap, get some kind of straplock/quick release and it won't be a problem.

Re: do you take out the strap and the tremolo arm?

I had a same question about that.
And also. What do you guys do if not carting the guitar around. I firmly put it in case when taking it around mates house or to setup or to gigs.

But what do you guys do when its only at home? I have it sitting in its nice comffy guitar stand. You reckon this is ok. I mean the only thing affecting it is the dust. I can always put it in case, but i feel taking it in and out of the case all the time can be a pain after a while.

I keep mine in the cases at ALL times when not playing. But then again, they are Jems

I used to keep my older axes just sitting around in the stands. But I dfound that it's inevitable.....you'd be surprised how the things end up falling forward and get their necks cracked. (even if you usually stap them in) I think I found out a had a few gremlins in the house

Besides....all that dust can seriously clog the trem

i keep all my good guitars up on the wall of my guitar room. that way they're out of reach and i can show them off to people.

i do keep a few guitars on conventional guitar stands, though. just to live dangerously.

i also keep a few disassembled projects around the house to piss off my wife.

Re: do you take out the strap and the tremolo arm?

I take off my strap and trem bar everytime I put my guitars in my hardshell cases. When Im at home, I take off the strap though. Only when Im at band practice and out playing gigs is when the strap and trem bar stay on.
