Eddie's Frankenstrat

Anybody got a good close-up of Eddie's Frankenstrat, the version he used in the Jump video. I trying to figure out how many pickups he had in that thing.

Regards

André

the Frankenstrat has always had only one pickup, mostly a Duncan hum. all the other Frankenstrats got just one humbucker, except one, which has got an humbucker at the bridge and a single at the neck, not wired.

oddly, the hum/single Frankenstrat has kind of a 5-way selector switch laying right into the (empty) center-pickup cavity...

Are you SURE that the original Frankenstrat had a Duncan?

I specifically recall Eddie saying that it was a Gibson humbucker.

Yes it was a Gibson humbucker - it was from an old Gibson 335

If i recall correctly the jump guitar is actually a copy of the original frankenstat and was made from all kramer parts. Can anyone clarify this? anyways there were basically two identical looking guitars like the original frankenstat.

Thanks for the replies and link. I already knew that with the humbucker, but I can't figure out what single coi lwas sitting at the neck and did he have anything in the middle position?

Kind regards

André

As far as i know he had the middle pickup empty, he just had the Gibson 335 humbucker in the bridge, and some sort of single coil in the neck.

God knows what the single was?

But i dont think he really would have used it anyway, thats why he made that guitar in the first place. Because he didnt like the thinness of the strat tone. So i presume he stuck to his bridge most of the time!

If I recall correctly its the original strats neck pickup without the cover on it, but ed has said in one interview it was a dimarzio custom made pickup and in another the original frankenstrats original pickup. all the wiring inside is unhooked, the toggle switch is just sitting there bolted inside. The guitar only has a 500k pot, and a input jack on it. The pickup is nailed in instead of screwed in as I recall
