I did a search and didn't really see a whole lot about this. Does anyone else feel that the older Edge/Lo Pro Edges are superior over the new Edge Pro?

A good friend of mine loaned me his 05 1570 and I've had it for about a week. I've been A/Bing it w/ my older model 550 w/ original Edge. I don't know maybe it's just me, but I can't get over how cheap the Edge Pro feels. And there's definately something missing from the tone. FWIW, Both guitars had the same setup. Basswood body, maple/rosewood necks, TZ/PAF pro pickups.

While I do like some aspects of the new design for functionality reasons. I think the older bridges are better made and better sounding.

Anyone else?

I can't tell the difference between any of those bridges in terms of sound or feel. in my experience they all function equally well. the edge is not as ergonomic as the others though. the fine tuners can get in the way of the arm so I have to keep them down.I do prefer the look of the older bridges though. but I'm not going to replace my edge pro bridge coz they work fine.
