Edge Pro II Breakage?

Hey Guys!
I own an Ibanez RGT42FM which I love except for one thing.... The bridge. It's comfortable and stays in tune great, but it breaks strings very badly. The high e used to break constantly but I took the burrs out and its better. The thing is, whenever I try to pull up on the bar i feel tension throughout the whole guitar then a string breaks. Its not always the same one, but usually one of the higher three. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Its not a life or death thing and i can live without being able to pull the bar up, but Id like to be able to. If Steve Vai can, we can too... right? Lol. Any info would be great.

If you're always playing with fresh strings then pulling up won't break anything

I hate to be a pain in the arse, but it does it even with new strings. Im not sure exactly why its doing it, is there any other reason you could think of that might be the problem. Is the Edge Pro any better at preventing string breakage than the II?

There's no reason they should break if they're new, unless you've got more pullup range than is normal on a T.

they break right past the saddle, close to the bottom of the bridge pickup. It seems they always break there.

If it is true, the cause is not the bridge. if the break point is close to the holder block, the cause is probably the bridge. Thinking of your lot number, your guitar is not 1st lot.

The early EPII's had some problems with saddles breaking too. I keep a bag of spares in the shop. But no complaints of string breakage.

man, you guys must be tough on guitars. I NEVER even break strings, let alone a guitar( except that once It swung up and hit me in the mouth, but the guitar suffered the most dammage )

Ironically as far as I know, Vai doesn't use the edge pro or edge pro II on any of his own guitars
