Edge Zero ii Opinions

Now that the Edge Zero ii has been out for a few years I was wondering what those of you who own them think of them. I did a search and have really only found old reviews that seem to cover the tremolo in new condition. Anyone had it a couple years now and still pleased with the stability?

I had it for over 2 years, not a problem. I didn't really use the arm, but the bridge itself is very stable.

Re: Edge Zero ii Opinions

Thanks for the replies guys. How easy is it to float? I used to have an early 90s RG570 with an original edge and I never had any issues floating it. I could take all the strings off and restring it and that sucker would float right back to position without any adjustment hassle. I've also owned a couple of Ibbys with the edge iii and floating the trem was always a pain in the rear.

Re: Edge Zero ii Opinions

Hmmmm is it a 7-string? Things are a little trickier with 7-strings. Mine floats well but it needs its streching and adusting period. It is not so one-time job and forget about it. At some point I was driven crazy, it takes more skill to master it than a dummy non-floating 6-string classic OFR. But it is ok.
Just make sure to silence the springs as well.

Re: Edge Zero ii Opinions

Not a 7 string and I don't mean to make it sound like the original edge was no work. I just remember being able to change strings and never having to adjust the claw to compensate. The tremolo just seemed to always go right back into perfect floating position after strings were on and stretched.

With my RG350DX the edge iii seemed like I always had to adjust the spring tension. It took quite a while to set up in comparison to the RG570.

Re: Edge Zero ii Opinions

Its 100% due to the springs sensitivity to weather changes, or just sensitivity. IMHO it has nothing to do with the trem itself. I experience your symptoms with my edge zero ii-7. The slightest change needed readhustment of claw. I think not any more. If you leave it where it is and stop bothering it, it will stop bothering you.

Re: Edge Zero ii Opinions

A friend of mine has the edge zero 2 on his new 7 string. He said the only complaint he had was the arm holder not being the push in type like the lopro but the screw on type. Otherwise it seems ok.

Re: Edge Zero ii Opinions

Thanks to all of you for the help. Planning a new guitar purchase soon and was considering a Prestige RG655 but I don't want to spend $1200 if I don't have to. I'd be just as happy with a S670QM assuming the Edge Zero ii is good enough tremolo.
