Edge Zero swap?

Hey, I would like to know whether it would be possible to swap the bridge of an Edge Zero equipped guitar for a Lo-Pro Edge bridge.

Re: Edge Zero swap?

i think it needs re-routing and possible mods to body depending on model. Be sure to do it only if you need it, otherwise is just a money waste.

Re: Edge Zero swap?

How much would it costs to re-route the body? I just not used to the feel of the Edge Zero bridge and I would prefer to have the Lo-Pro Edge instead. By the way, is the route bigger or smaller for the Edge Zero?

Re: Edge Zero swap?

Interesting if Rich could add some info here. The spacing for the posts is wider on the Zero, so the post holes would have to be filled and new ones drilled for the standard Lo Pro. Also the body might need a re-route. I have 2 J Customs with Zero bridges, so i am interested in the mod for the Lo Pro.

Re: Edge Zero swap?

You know as much as I do. The studs would need to be moved, and the 2 spring setup may or may not work well if pinned to the outer holes in the block depending on how that angle effects the way the spring sits on the cross T of the ZPS.

Re: Edge Zero swap?

it might be better to just get a new body. i don't think the EZ spring system would work properly with an edge or lo-pro.

Re: Edge Zero swap?

Scott was going to do this but I don't think he ever reported back if he got it done or not
