Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

Ok, so the model # leaves a bit to be desired, but what's in a name?

BODY : (Top) Quilted Maple
     (Back) Ash
NECK : Walnut, Hard Maple 9Piece
FNGERBORAD : Ebony , 27frets
SCALE : 648mm (25.5inch) / Long
JOINT : Neck-Thru-Body
PICKUPS : (Front) Seymour Duncan SCR-1n
       (Rear) Seymour Duncan TB-5
CONTROL : Master Volume , Master Tone , 3Way Lever PU Selector
BRIDGE : Original Floyd Rose

Dark Red, definitely On the verge of being over the top as far as aesthetics, but I have always liked the Jems, this guitar just takes it a step further with a quilted top, nicer vine inlay, and a simple 3 way switch with Hum bridge and Single hum in the neck slot.
I am going by faith here and just the reviews but the seller has a money back guarantee, so we shall see what we see.

I'm VERY happy with my Edwards LP, so if this is on par, as I've read it is, I should be a HAPPY lil camper. We will know in a few days.

I can't find the red model on their site other than the banner image of : http://www.espguitars.co.jp/edwards/
More to come when it arrives

I remember it being the CY models but basically you just need to click the menus and keep selecting until you find it. It is sort of obvious once you learn ESP names though. Like SN is for the snapper, LP is les paul, EX is explorer, hope that helps man I really want one too!

Re: Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

Just wondering, how do Edwards guitars compare to ESP or LTDs quality wise?

Looking forward to the pics.

Rock on!

Yum, Edwards 27 fretters are the ****, I'd get one now if it weren't for other purchases I'm making, definitely among my favourite ESPs.

Re: Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

Yeah, you nailed it.
Their site isn't as intuitive as one might hope, but Black Cherry is the perfect color name.
I keep thinking, you just paid for a guitar sight unseen, but thats how my LP clone was and it's perfect. The 3 way toggle flaked, but their 3 way was the same as the replacement.

Out of curiosity, anyone know about the Floyd Rose 1000 series trems?
They highlight it on the model features, so I would imagine it's a good thing. I know crap about the OFR models.

Somewhere in the middle. The parts seem to be quietly made in China these days, but assembled in Japan. Sold as Japanese however. They are one of the best bang for buck on new guitars though.

Think i would go for a ESP Horizon FR-2 for a few extra or $$$ or .

Re: Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

BTW, they are quietly made in China under the direct supervision of the ESP Japan people.
Quality control is supposed to be tip top, and based on my experience, so far, so good.
If that changes, TRUST me, I will be the 1st to raise the flag and shout out a warning.

Re: Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

I believe the FR 1000 are Asian made versions of the Schaller FR.

I think....
I know are coming out on LTD's too. The LTD Ouija has one. I have heard they are pretty good though.

Re: Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

Edwards are definately above Ltd, and I've heard some say that *some* weigh up to *some* ESPs, quality and playability wise, and from seeing some very close up shots of them and seeing a few every now and again, they do seem well made.

Re: Edwards E-CY165CTM 648

I used to have a John Sykes sig Edwards Les Paul Custom with the ebony board. It was a well built guitar alright. Binding looked a bit cheap, but the rest was great.

Some are above some below, typical quality levels apply to both brands, especially as they are both sub ESP brands.
