Sorry Dee, but I have to disagree. It doesn't look cheaply made. I think you're overreacting a bit because you don't like DF and you don't like purple.
Of course you can have any opinion you want but I just think saying "it looks like $220," is over the top. I don't mean to offend but if there was a Shawn Lane sig that was the same guitar I don't think you would be against it.
If I was in the market for a guitar like this I would pay $1200-1400. But, I do agree that $2200 is overpriced. Rich is right however and parents usually will get their kids anything.
I know people hate Dragon Force. Personally, I like them because I think they don't take themselves serously and are just playing the most fun music they can. So I understand there will be quite a bit of bias against this model.
I didn't say it looks cheaply made, I said it looks cheap. There's a difference mate! I'm sure it's as well made as any sig model, but the overall look (purple and gold) are colours I'd see some 50 year old tart wearing in the local pub.
If it was a Shawn Lane sig I'd say the same thing because I don't like those colours. It wouldn't change my opinion that Shawn had more talent in one finger than then rest of the guitar world combined (Holdsworth excluded). I'm talking about his music, not his taste in colours, his clothes, his image, or anything else. You don't honestly think I'd be so biased towards Shawn Lane to the point where I'd adore a gaudy purple and gold guitar created in his name, do you? Please. One thing I am not is a shallow, naive, gullible hero worshipper.
If you know parents who can afford to spoil their kids like that and pay for $2200 guitars, man, you must live in a nice, safe area! I don't know a single person who would do this, nor have I ever met anyone like this. $2200 is about the average income per year
where I live.
OK, before I start a class war, I'm out of here.
