EMG passives on RG?

currently, i've got 3 ibanezes GSA60, RGT42DXFM, RG550LTD
now, i'm thinking about getting a RG370 new or 570 used for my project guitar..
as far as i know, both 370 and 570 are basswood body..
and i was thinking putting EMG passives on my project..
H4-S4-H4A (already got H4 & H4A sets..)
is it worth putting EMGs on basswood?
if not, i'm thinking about replacing INF1 & INF2 on my RGT42DXFM.. (it's got mahogany heavy-ass body... :P)
which would be better? EMG passives on basswood or mahogany?

Re: EMG passives on RG?

Save up a little more money and put in the actives, they are much better. Look at the new X Series EMG models, they have a lot more clarity than the regular models.

I use 81, 85, and 89s in a couple of my guitars and find they have tonnes of clarity and tone, especially with the 18 volt mod.

If they are a bit pricey for you new, buy used on the Bay, etc. Should save you a bit.
