EMG707's in my K7 - EMG707's

Hi Everyone,

I have been to several guitar stores here and have occasionally seen a seven string guitar with these pickups installed in them. The one thing that I have noticed is how bad the routing job is. All of the guitars that I've looked at have pickup cavities that look like some chewed out the edges. Most likely, the previous owner did the work himself.

I want to know can I take my guitar in to any guitar shop or is there something special I need to look for in a shop? If anyone has had this done to their guitar, please share your experience. Any input would be helpful becaue if my K7 doesn't sell, I will have the EMG's I have installed in this guitar.

Thanks,
Christian

EMG707's in my K7

Actually I'm in the midst of doing the final touches on Shannon Sharps Guitar for the same thing.

The problem most people will have when doing the route for those pickups is simply there isn't a standard template for them to go by so it's a freehand route. Course if your use to clamping down a guide bar to the body the line will end up looking much better

Another thing you might want to take into concideration is the fact that on his body I filled in the 5 way in order to introduce a simple 3way switch which requires the standard 1/2" hole. This requires some tricky routing in the electronics cavity if you want the switch to be centered where the old one was..

Sorry about the quality of the images I just took them off the disc and made them smaller but you get the idea ...
