Yes. EMG 707s are larger than regular pickups, so your body will need to be routed out for them.

Yup EMG's are active and so require a power source (except the HZ passive versions) thats where the 9v batt comes in, But in most guitars it'll fit inside the electronics cavity no problem

Yeah i think the ESP sig SC models have the EMG81-7. The EMGS should fit fine on ur Ibanez 1077XL and should be ok.

This place has the 707's, and had the 81-7's, but it looks like they sold out. Keep an eye on it, though, their stock changes regularly.

Nope, you will have to route the holes bigger.

yeah, from what I read on the site, I guess they were too lazy to make a standard 7 humbucker size and so they just used a bass pickup size and put in the electronics of an 81. I like my 81's a lot in my Schecter, I bet in a 7-string they'd be great too. They're really good when you have your guitar in drop-b or so I'm sure their 7-string pup is quite nice. Although I think I'm starting to prefer DiMarzio's over just about everything.

everyone on this board should petition EMG to make a standard-sized 7-string pickup housing.

i don't think it was a question of laziness... My understanding was they started doing 7's as a custom order, and it was much easier and cheaper (both for them and the customer) to use an existing housing than to form a new one. When they finally went to production, there were already so many custom 7's out there that it didn't make sense to change the spec of the pickup.

It's a pain in the neck, sure, but i understand their reasons...
