ESP!!!!

Hey,

I was dickin around on the net and I have been lookin for a good solid guitar for teaching, I have a couple 7 strings(cant really use them cause they confuse the **** outta the kids!) I dont wanna use an LP cause I dont want anything to happen to it! Also its got EMGs and if its plugged in for 8 hours several times a week the batterys gonna be **** really quick! and I have the Nick Catanese Washburn Idol, (dont have it yet but I cant wait!!!) I might use that somtimes but its really nice looking and I dont want to let it get messed up! Its also got EMGs

ANYWAY, I stumbled upon this...... (the second one, gold one)

http://espguitars.com/ltd_ec.htm

its like $500 and some change. anyone played one? thoughts? comments?

Whatever I get has to have a fixed bridge or an LP style bridge. and Id like passive pups

Comparable to Epiphone with better pickups.
If setup well - in a blind test most people won't be able to tell it appart from an Epiphone or a Gibson.
Great choice for $500 - here these are more than twice that.

you might check out the EC 1000 as they are built like a guitar twice the price (they sell for $699-$799 depednding on the finish). you can get an EMG model or a JB/'59 epuiped model. i plan to look into these early next year. everywhere i go people are praising them as the best bang for the buck in a LP style guitar.
if it is said that the EC 400 is the Epi equivalant, then this model starts it's own class of quality above the Epi. check it out - they are very solid.
my two cents.

Re: ESP!!!!

Check out the EC400AT. Comes with SD covered pups, arch top, in either gold top or ebony. Both have binding on the body, neck, and headstock.
I have played it and it sounds great. It is heavy like a Les Paul. The EC 1000
is lighter and all the additional abalone binding is just too much IMO. Try the 400AT.
