Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

ESP custom shop will paint any (and I mean ANY) custom design you give them on a guitar but it'll cost you.
My 2004 catalog came with a custom shop price list that had any option you can think of on it.
The only limit was the body shape - you have to start with their body (viper/MII/Horizon - whatever) but everything else was optional.
Pricy too - the neck through option for MII/KHII was £300.

Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

I think it would go fine if it were actually a swirl, not a splotchy ugly thing like that

Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

I saw that in the Japanese ESP catalog and thought that was one was pretty ugly. Mind you, I'm not a big fan of any swirl paintjob.

That looks more hand-painted than swirled.

Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

That's not a swirl that's just someone who went nuts with a pack of crayons .

Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

Well it's been about 15 years since these colours were unveiled on Vai's PAW 7 string and I'm just glad to see the swirl used on ANY guitar.

I think it's just a shame they don't trickle UV77MCs into the market place even if it was on a pre-order basis.

At least this shows that there maybe a market for the swirl somewhere

I noticed Ibanez are doing Black and White limited edition swirls this year as well!

Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

Thats a swirl? Oh well, at least its better than that crap that was selling on **** a while ago . It's strange though, because I've never seen a production swirl guitar other than Ibanez's.

Re: ESP swirl for the Japan market

God, I remember looking at this thing and thinking it was the ugliest guitar I've ever seen, next to the L'arc en Ciel and Dir en Grey models. Arch-top Rhoads? Doesn't look like a good idea at all, in this case. And that paintjob is horrible. Looks like a paint-blob monster.
