if he's still w/ Peavey, you would conclude his contract must allows such outside sales.

what ever happened to teh "custom shop" EVH Peavey offerings that were supposed to be coming soon a few years ago? ... glen

The EVH Custom Shop exists on Peavey's site.

Through inside sources, the Peavey/EVH split has been in the making since last year's NAMM.

His contract is up in Oct, but if an unapproved stint like this occurs, I would think that Peavey could cut it at any time?

Hand striped by Eddie?! That's pretty damn cool for someone attracted by such matters (collectors, cough, spit). I've no idea if the guitars are actually any good, and I suspect the starting price will be horrifically disproportionate to the actual quality.

I want his Harley. It's on the wrong side of ostentatious and I love it.

I seriouisly doubt that this is going to be a major operation - Eddie creating "custom" guitars in his drawing room.
There'll probably be 10 of each and that'll be the end of it.
I'm sure if this thing was a serious enterprise the page would have been on the Jackson/Charvel webspace and ebay wouldn't be even mentioned.

Maybe a publicity stunt trying to get FMIC to give him a call about a new Charvel deal???

Look at the logo closer, they're Performance guitars, not Charvel's

Was that his "too drunk to appear hiding in the loft" namm show debacle?

i'd love to see sales #s on the Peavey EVH... the're likely terrible. They could actually make more $$$ ebaying collectables as such in limited runs.

Releasing these now (regardless of contract status) is a no-brainer as the tour is free advertisement for these guitars. Even if he left in october, Peavey should have had a non-competition clause in the contract for damages, etc... glen

You're still talking about your monitor, right?

Peavey's overall sales have been lower than expectations.

If they're Charvels with the Fender headstock, they're likely made by Fender.

no doubt. how would sales be good... peavey has a horrible brand name of guitars (like Ibanez is striving for now) and VH/EVH hibernated for the past several years? Add of courses Eddie himself is pretty much irrelevant to the general music scene now so you have the makings of a "nostalgia ebay sale" (all the 30-40 somethings with $$$) to go along with their "reunion tour". ...glen

By the way, have you guys seen the prices at Peavey's EVH Custom Shop? Totally absurd. A flat basswood Special starts at $1400. Custom graphics from their stock catalogue are $400 for what looks like a straight stencil flame job to $2000 for a totally custom graphic. At those prices, i can't imagine they've sold any.
