evh's musicman

i was wondering if anybody knows what happened to the ernie ball/axis guitars that eddie used, after hearing about the peavey smashings i was wondering if these beauties suffered the same horrid fate.

Re: evh's musicman

That was his "send off" for Peavey, with whom he parted ways, contractually. I guess it wasn't a very good split; they even had to come up with at different name for the "5150" amps....

Re: evh's musicman

Well, the 5150 is such a popular amp they couldn't just drop it or they'd never hear then end of it.

And EVH only had the rights to "EVH" and "5150", the rest, the design, the circuit, belonged to Peavey.

So the 5150 lives on. . .as the 6505 . . . .just barely legal.

Ed smashed two of his Peaveys on the last show of the tour in 2004. One was green with a sustainer the other was a tobacco burst. The rumor that Ed smashed them because it was the day his contract with Peavey expired.

André

Re: evh's musicman

What an ass. He could have given them to two random fans in the audience instead.

In pete's townsend words "what the **** do they know. Its my guitars"

Well in his case there wasnt ,cuh else he could do with aguitar besides smacking it lol.

I prefer his job with synthezisers, "Wont get fooled again" should be a REAL anthem.

Hey guys, rememeber this ? (posted orginally by Andre)

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showth...ally+destroyed

It explains a lot about the final show of 2004 and why he might have smashed the guitars. What do you think guys? is it over for Van Halen? I think they will be back, either for one last tour or another studio album.... we can only hope.

I really do hope that VH is getting back together for a full new album etc. Michael Anthony is currently playing on Neil Zaza's new album.
