Explorer style guitars...

I am looking to find a good guitar similar to the Gibson Explorer. I love the looks of the ESP EX models but I'm really unsure about the quality. I will prolly be using EMG pickups, and will repaint it a nice 80's flourescent color. Does anyone have any opinions about the ESP or any other brand that makes something similar?

ESP stuff is great, for what it is!! LTD stuff is what you would expect from a well made lower priced guitar...

To be honest, my '94 Gibson was absolutely killer in every way. I sold it like I eventually sell everything but it was an outstanding guitar.

I may wind up getting a Gibson, but to me they are a lil too rounded on the edges. Any other ideas?? Or opinions on the ESP?

Man, my first guitar was a POS Hondo Explorer rip-off that my brother decided to put his foot through the neck because he had some girls in his room and I was bugging him so I've been turned off to Explorers ever since.
