FAAS for ur Ibanez..Updated with samples...

I emailed GraphTech about 7 string saddles and was told this:

I believe model # PN-8000-07 to be the correct FAAS saddles for your
Ibanez, you will also need a PE-0210 preamp along with a PE-0111-00
Quick switch.

I just put a deposit on this today, can't wait to get it!
I'm putting it in my AX7221.

Is there an update on this? Did they show? Did they get installed? Inquiring minds are looking at their RG7620 and thinking "hmmmmmm".

I'm guessing it won't work on a 7620. These are not for Edge/Lo-Pro bridges, these are for fixed bridges I believe.

It's currently being installed now, I have to go pick it up early next week.
Can't Wait!!

And yes they r only for fixed bridges.

LR Baggs might have one for Edge/Lo-Pro bridges. Since they supply em for Ibanez, but i'm not sure.

A good reason to drop some cash on that old 7421 or 7621 lying in the corner of your local music store!

Actually, I've been thinking about getting a nice fixed bridge 7. Maybe when I have a few extra thousand $$$'s, I'll get two Carvin DC747s, one with a trem, one without.

Has anyone heard the FAAS sound? Any good?

Wow... the FAAS sounds really good! (The rest of your tones are pretty solid, too!) I may just have to do that for the next mod to my Dean!

Wow... that's impressive. Would it not sound even better going direct into the recorder?

I tried recording it directly into the recorder, but I felt it needed more treble, I could have fixed this on the studio probably, but I just tried the amp and i was pleased with the result. Heres a clip of it recorded directly into the studio, but you can't hear it too well, you can still notice it's there...

FAAS Directly Into The Recorder

How about some mp3's with just the FAAS? I'm curious to see how it sounds direct to the recorder that way.

Thanks,

Randy

Ok I just quickly made a sample now of the FAAS directly into the recorder then through an amp so you can hear the difference.
It's not perfectly played but you can hear what it sounds like.

FAAS Direct to Recorder, Then With Amp

Hope this is alright...

Wow. The direct one sounds fantastic! Very natural sounding.

I can understand why you opted to use the amped version in your recording... it sounds more compressed and has more upper mids and highs that would let it cut through the mix a bit better.

But to my ear, the direct one sounds way better, and more like an acoustic guitar.

Thanks for the samples! I'm going to start saving for the FAAS and installation... i'm not sure if i've got enough confidence in my soldering abilities to install it myself.
