Thought some of you may be interested in this Fender Esprit which I picked up a few years ago second hand for £550 (I think it retailed around £1200)
It's the Fender Esprit, made in 1983. (pronounced Espree don't you know!) From what I understand they were a limited run. Fender were trying to make a more Gibson type guitar I think!? Apparantly only a few thousand were made
Get this though... they were made in Japan at the Fujigen Gakki factory of Ibanez fame!
Alder Body, routed tone chambers, maple top and set neck
Two special-design Schaller humbuckers
Crome Tuners and Bridge/tailpiece also Schaller designed
It's a nice quick player and was my main guitar before I came over to Ibanez (now playing RGA121 and PGM301). The neck is about 19mm at 1st fret (if you like to know that sort of thing)
I wonder has anyone else here on Jemsite got one of these??
Here are a few pics, let me know what you think and if you want any more closup of anything!!
