I own one. Itīs my first electric guitar i bought, somewhere early 90īs. Itīs a great sounding and playing guitar. Canīt go wrong with the HM strats! They are cheap too and i really donīt know why, because the quality is really there.

Re: Fender HM series Strats anyone own one ?

I have two Fender HM Strats and love them both. I have one of the "Ice Blue" ones with HSS config and the other is the "Arctic White" with HSS config. Excellent guitars and well built.

If you are interested in trading for one, I would be willing to part with my white one for an Ibanez USA Custom. Let me know and I can send you some pics.

Re: Fender HM series Strats anyone own one ?

My 1st "legit" electric was an Arctic white HM strat. I wish I knew what I had, but I ended up trading it for a PGM30 back in the mid 90's. I remember Greg Howe was endorsing them when they 1st came out. Rock solid, 24 frets what more could you want? okay, maybe an OFR. It came with that Kahler Spyder trem which people tend to rip. I really don't remember much about the trem to be honest. I was like, 15 and didn't know anything about guitars.

Re: Fender HM series Strats anyone own one ?

Greg is a monster! The Kahler is interesting. Some people love them, some hate them. The neat thing is the knife edges are on the post so when they dull you can just turn the posts. Quality of them is excellent.

I honestly just don't have a lot of love for the HM's period. I've owned a few, but just can't get into them for some reason. I've kept the Razzberry one because it's in collectors condition. I'd rather have something else...

That being said, if it feels good to you, it's an excellent choice. The quality is excellent and mine stays in tune forever.

There is a black one on the local CL and I keep thinking, I should go look at it. But then again I don't need it. : /

Re: Fender HM series Strats anyone own one ?

Yeah the HMs were pretty good as they were trying to compete with the higher end at the time. Playing one was kind of like shagging the cute neighbour or the office temp-its there and feels good so you do it, but then a quality Ibby comes along and its like your first dirty stripper-true love hhahah
