Fender Tele FMT-HH experiences?

Hey there,
while searching the net for guitar porn I stumbled upon this "custom" beauty:

http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0262000561

Maple top on mahogany, 2 H-H duncans, set neck, mop inlays.
I've never seen one in stores, but online dealers do carry them.. for a price that seems suspiciously (sp?) low to me.. 450EUR. Where's the downside? Those are made in mexico, right? Has anyone seen/played one of these?
Sorry, my knowledge about Fender stuff is rather limited.
Thanks in advance!

I'm Tele fan but that one is really nice and the matching headstock is just perfect .

I think they are actually Korean.

They are korean. I have one. They're very nicely appointed for the price. They have a graphite nut and a coil tap. Mine didn't come with duncans but I put a SD jazz in the neck and a JB in the bridge. sounds awesome and plays great. And you really can't beat the price

I'm kinda digging the stripped-down looks of the Blackout Tele.

Re: Fender Tele FMT-HH experiences?

i have a scorpion tele that's a great bang for the $.
the neck/fret work is excellent for an import, and the fit and finish was also superb.
the atomic humbucker sounded pretty good, very high output and no feedback. i changed it out for a mccarty pickup and now it sounds really great.
the only problem i have is with the tuners, my d and b strings keep going flat after some agressive play. other than that excellent guitar for the price.

As far as Korean teles go, the Lite Ash tele was one of the nicer teles I played, so if this is similar quality, I would recommend it.

I've played a few of those and was very impressed with the playability and sound. The problem that I have is that they are generally overpriced in guitar shops. Of course, you can find them like $200 cheaper online so I'd definitely go that route if I was looking to own a Tele.

I saw them at thomann and was tempted. If it weren't for the body which seems a bit heavy, I would buy one.

Re: Fender Tele FMT-HH experiences?

I thought the neck felt terrible (bad fretjob, 'cheap' feel- you know what I mean) and I really really wanted to like it. The pickups sounded flat. I only tried 2, but it just didn't feel right and sounded very... plain.

On the other hand, the Lite Ash tele sounded awesome and the neck felt great- although my guess is it may be a little thick to shreddy hands. The only thing I would maybe replace in the future is the bridge for better intonation (more specifically, the saddles). It also felt a bit more substantial, and less toylike. So I agree with Pawel - I'd check it out if you're looking for an inexpensive tele.

...forgot to add... the '72 Tele Deluxe reissue also sounded very sweet and played really well also if you were looking for a dual humbucker Fender. Try one out for sure!
