FGM400 inbound!

I just scored an Ibanez FGM400 in brilliant blue. Should have it in about a week. Really stoked! Details to come.

Re: FGM400 inbound!

Lol, yeah this is why I sold the yellow 540s. Got it for way less than I thought I would too. Has a few battle scars and not mint but in great condition otherwise. And I already have another FGM400 neck too which I was going to do a custom build with. Not sure if ill try to restore this one or leave it as is. It's a "relic" as they'd say over on the gear page. If I hadn't of gotten the FGM, had my eye on a verde PRS so I'm glad I won this one. The PRS would have been a lot harder in the bank account.

That's what I'm hoping! I think I'm done after this one. Famous last words, right?

Wow, awesome price, I guess the collectors were napping when the auction finished. You will love it... post some pics when you get it!

Re: FGM400 inbound!

I was going to tease a bid, but not bid to win. FG's are not an easy sell so you have to get them cheap.

Re: FGM400 inbound!

I'm glad you didn't bid Rich! As retribution and punishment I would have demanded a discount on all future orders, LOL.

Yeah I'm pretty happy about the price. I was prepared to go a few hundred higher and I would have gladly paid a few hundred less. Everyone must have been asleep on this one. I actually bid earlier than I usually do as I had to take the wife out and watch her shop. I'll be sure to post lots of photos. I may take her apart and take a bunch of high quality documentary photos for future reference. Now I just have to find a way, or a person, to color match the few spots on the body that need it. I'm sort of tempted to find someone who specializes in guitar restoration and have them work on the body. I guess I should wait and see what it looks like when it gets here.

Re: FGM400 inbound!

I try not to cost others money if I don't really want the inventory, which was pretty much this case. The DY was much better inventory. I'd sell 4 of them before I'd have sold that FG

Re: FGM400 inbound!

Because the FG wouldn't sell or because it's a keeper?

How many guitars do you have in your personal collection? The ones that you would not sell.

Re: FGM400 inbound!

Probably not as many as you think, but I've pulled a few things out that just didn't quite fit, and I have several more coming out also that will be replaced with some out of the "might keep" stash of about 5or6 guitars I always have around

Re: FGM400 inbound!

So what are your holy grails Rich? Any other non-J Craft S series you'd consider particularly special?

I've never liked anything S, sorry!

They can bury me with my custom shop rainforest.
