Flame maple JPM? - real or fake

Just stumbled across flame maple topped Ibanez. The seller claims it is a JPM model, but with the exception of the Petrucci style electronics and the bound fingerboard with offset inlays, there is no resemblance of any production JPM.

Indeed, there has been som modifications to this one (the pickups, and potentially the plastic covers), but it has a real LoPro Edge.

My guess is that it is a strange brew of misc parts, perhaps with a custom made body and neck. What especially intrigues me is the large logo inlay.

Any clues what this is?

Re: Flame maple JPM? - real or fake

the Body is indeed simular to an RG620.
However i cant place the neck. could be an JPM neck.
Could also be an USRG ('96-'97) but then it would say so on the headstock.
+the layout of the controls would be different.

Can you see if its a real top or is it a veneer?

Veneer= RG620 body.

Real top= USRG.

All guitars in the USRG series came with the blade switch. But the RG620 seem to be right for the body. Although the neck puzzles me. I have seen the large Ibanez logo on a production guitar before and this one has a F00 XXXXX serial.

If the seller is willing to take the neck of so you can read the prints on body and neck,your answer is there.
