Smile Floating Bridge on a RGA121 or RGA321??

I wonder if Ibanez will ever put a locking tremolo on these beautiful arched top guitars? I wonder how hard it would be to get one, then send it away to be routed and fitted? I love the way an arch top feels...the RGA321FSPB would be something I love with a whammy bar! What do you think?

Re: Floating Bridge on a RGA121 or RGA321??

Well if they can put a floating trem on those thin S series guitars then I would guess that it could also be done with an RGA. I don't think Ibanez has any plans to put a floating trem on the guitar, though, because there are already similar RGs like that (minus the arch top, of course). Routing a fixed bridge guitar for a floating trem would be pricy, though...

Hmmm.... Get one of those schaller floating trems that retrofit onto a TOM style fixed bridge? It just needs that 2 erm.. bridge posts of the TOM bridge design... check schaller's website?

Re: Floating Bridge on a RGA121 or RGA321??

I doubt they would, because I'm sure part of the reason for making the RGA models arched-top is to distinguish them further from models like the RG321/421 and to create something a bit more unique, aside from the regular RG line. But I would absolutely love an RGA321 with an Edge series or ZR trem. In gold.

Well considering the RGA line is the RG Prestige FIXED BRIDGE line i hugely doubt that there wil ever be an RGA with a trem . Maybe an 1XXX, 2XXX, or 3XXX RG prestige with arched top though? Id buy one!

You should find a RG-ARCH in the older J Custom line !

Maybe hard to find though

A Wilkinson VS100 in gold and licking tuners would also be way cool .

I've had (2) RG-ARCHs. Definitely very cool guitars - it'd be great to see an RGA with a trem option, but I won't hold my breath.

Re: Floating Bridge on a RGA121 or RGA321??

Wow, i didn't expect so many different reactions to this post. Thanks everyone! scanlan75018 made me aware that at one time they did make an RG-ARCH. Every once in a while I'll have to look at Ibanezrules to see if Rich gets one in the used gear. I won't hold my breath though. I just bought a 2550e from him in September and he was awesome! Thanks Tuggey
