Which one is better Original Floyd Rose or Floyd Rose II? What´s the difference between the two??

The original. Stay away from the floyd II, it sucketh.

Soundwise the FRII is more mellow sounding and on an unplugged guitar it sounds more like a Gibson would whereas the FR has that brittle ring that sounds more like a Fender.

The FRII is just the Schaller knockoff. Most of the time it was made by Schaller anyway, but some were Korean and they are really bad. So long as it says "made in Germany by Schaller" in the little square under the trem arm it should be a good trem. That goes for other Jackson and Charvel trems too. Some of those are Schallers, and they're fine, but others are asian-made to resemble the Schallers and they were really bad.

I have recently been converted to Schaller trems. I know the ones that I use (non lo-pro) are the fr2 design.

I have to say that if you get a Schaller you wont regret it, they are so ergonomic, and much less bulky than the Edge for instance. Definately the best floyd of all.

Orig Floyd or no floyd @ all.... I'd still take a kahler Pro over a Floyd anyday though.

If the Floyd II says "Made in Germany by Schaller" next to the trem arm it is a fine tremolo. If not, then it is asian made and it is not good.

Actually, I thought the Kahler Steeler was the best Floyd of all. But the OFR, Schaller, and Edge all take a pretty close second.

I've got Schaller made FRII on 2 guitars (Jackson SL3 and ESP MII Deluxe) and I'd say it's a very good, solid tremolo.
As I said above the only noticeable difference between OFR and FRII is cosmetic - the string lockup screws are different but also the base on the FRII is cast with knife inserts and it sounds melower than OFR or an EDGE.

Bottom line, if you set it up well it will perform as well as any OFR you care to throw at it.
The only difference is in feel.

I got a Kramer for Christmas back in 88 and it had a Floyd II. The thing that sucked was that the strings went through the trem almost like a stopbar and then went over a sharp "hump". The strings constantly broke.

I recently stole pieces from another trem and made it locking style(cut off the ball end and pinch it in the little block).Much better.

That's not the same Floyd II everyone's talking about. Yes, those sucked, and they were Korean.
