Re: Found a demo of the S1XXV

I am curious to know if the S is neck heavy. I will probably go try one out when the come into the local Guitar Center.

I have an Indonesian made S320, and it plays OK. The fretwork is good, but the neck seems fat. It looks to have a thick fretboard. In addition, my guess is that the truss bar is set into the neck and then the fretboard is glued on. The prestige (and other MIJ) guitars have a much thinner fretboard, which is less square.

Re: Found a demo of the S1XXV

A mahogany S body is barely lighter than a basswood RG, if at all, at least IME.

Re: Found a demo of the S1XXV

The 420 i have is definately not neck heavy. I think if it didn't have the zr weighting the thing down, the guitar would actually float.

Re: Found a demo of the S1XXV

I wouldn't say my s520 is neck heavy at all, it has the MIJ super wizard neck though, and I've not experienced any of the MIK or MII necks.

Re: Found a demo of the S1XXV

I didn't realise until I watched the video that they are actually fluorescent, I thought it was just the name of the colour!

Re: Found a demo of the S1XXV

These guitars look really nice for a gig, i canīt post links yet but check out the andertons review of them with rob chappers on youtube. The Sabre sounded more bassy and the RG with more mids to my ear.
