Re: Fretless 6 string electric guitars

hmmmm, besides the Vigier I can't think of any offhand. If I was going to get one for myself I'd get a Mexi strat and ask Warmoth for a fretless neck so I could try it out first. You could always epoxy it if you wanted it smooth like a Pedulla bass. If was already sure that fretless was the thing for me, then I'd get the Vigier. Either way I think it's going to be pretty difficult if not impossible to find one in a regular guitar store.

Thanks! I recently bought a Maestro by Gibson SG style and I've defretted it and sanded it down and restrung it. how far should I sand the nut down?

Do it just like you normally would except use the fretboard instead if the crown of the fret to measure from. But you'll want a little extra room for a fretless to play cleanly.

it will probably sound better as a stringless guitar.

but I wouldn't want to sand it down too far, right? and if I do, then I could put a shim, right?

Yeah, you can get nuts from places like StewMac for cheap anyway. Most guitar stores will also have them lying around too - nuts aren't difficult to find locally.
