Re: Genuine 1989 RG570?
Nice golden era guitar!
Back when post-CBS Fenders up to 1980 were considered starter guitars and sat in pawn shops as used instruments, I thought that one day they could be worth something and considered buying (since nobody else was) and eventually got four of them but sold off long before market went up. Then I saw a lot of Gibson Melody Makers and Les Paul/SG Juniors that people wouldn't touch and thought they could be worth something, too. I didn't jump on those either but did get a '65 Melody Maker but sold that off, too.
Right now the golden era Ibanezes are still pretty decent values in the used world of guitars and now is the time to buy. If you hang onto them they can go up five to ten times in value. I bought the Melody Maker, all original, for $250 bucks in early 1990s and the refinished '65 tele for $440 in 1984 and those would bring in way more today.
The golden era Ibanezes were head and shoulders the best quality superstrats of their day, using Edge instead of Floyd or Kahler, and paying more attention to neck than any other maker yet keeping prices way below some others and people will pay thousands for them someday.
