Gibralter bridge is driving me mad, please help!!
I've had my black RGA121 for a little while now. I first started to notice something strange on my low E. The string (though retaining normal string tension) sounds flubby when I pluck it. I'm using 10-52 DRs by the way if that makes a difference. None of the other strings experience this problem, only the low E.
I only noticed today that, when the ball of the string sits, it is different on the low E. All the ball ends on the other strings are facing up so you can see through the hole. The low E ball is kind of sideways, which led me to believe it wasn't sitting properly in the saddle. I pulled on it as hard as I could, tried a difference string and no luck.
This problem is really driving me nuts. I thought for a second that it was maybe my pickups, but none of the other strings have the same problem. So is my claim valid??
Next, would a Gibralter Plus bridge from the new RGAs fit on this guitar without modding?? Are they different than the regular gibralters?? I've read of other guys having issues with thicker strings fitting through the saddle on this guitar. PLEASE, any help is appreciated!! thanks!
